Krista is a seasoned Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) based in Nanaimo, B.C., with a deep passion for supporting individuals through their healing journeys. With extensive experience in working with young people navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and grief, Krista’s professional path has also led her to connect with a diverse range of individuals across various demographics.
Her work in Sexual Abuse Intervention Programs (SAIP) has been particularly formative, honing her ability to support both youth and parent survivors. Through these programs, Krista has gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by educators, working alongside teachers to understand the unique stressors they encounter and emphasizing the importance of mental well-being within the teaching profession.
Krista’s therapeutic approach is rooted in collaboration and non-judgment, offering a safe space where clients can explore their issues at their own pace. She integrates her background as a certified yoga teacher and vipassana meditator into her practice, encouraging the connection between body, mind, and heart as a key component of the healing process. This holistic approach helps individuals rediscover their inherent wisdom and cultivate balance in the face of life’s challenges.
Krista is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a research-backed therapy that effectively treats trauma and other mental health concerns by facilitating the processing of distressing memories and experiences.
She offers in-person sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays at her Nanaimo office, and virtual sessions the rest of the week. Krista looks forward to the opportunity to support anyone, whether they are a teacher seeking guidance or an individual on their personal path to healing.
